Hi,
I'm doing a simulation that is broken into two time steps (think of temperature ramp up and down). I want my material to change some of its properties at the transition (e.g. for T=0 to 1, expansion CTE is 100, and for T=1 to 2, expansion CTE is 200).
How can I do this in ABAQUS/CAE? I've...
I have never used cohesive elements; I've been reading through the manual, but I haven't come across an actual tutorial with cohesive elements in CAE.
I've so far created the cohesive section using the Sections Module: Create Secton -> Other -> Cohesive -> Material (chosen) -> Response...
Hi,
I would like to model a sandwich of steel-epoxy-PETfilm-epoxy-steel in ABAQUS CAE. Basically, the top edge of the PET film is held/clamped by a steel frame, and I am pulling down the bottom edge of the film to see at which force the PET film tears apart.
1) How do I "glue" two deformables...
Hi vumat721,
What I mean by the "right" way is, if an FEM expert were to model the heat-shrinking polymer film, would s/he simply model it as a 2D sheet with a negative CTE (obtained from empirical data)?
For bonus, is it possible to model the wrinkling of the thin film? What kind of data input...
I would like to model a typical thermal shrinkage of a 10cm x 10cm Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) film (think "shrink wrap") that is contained by a square metal frame. A temperature field is applied to the film, which shrinks the film and causes the metal frame to cave inwards (the extent of...
