Hi all. I'm trying to find out how to model the inertia of a large gearmotor. Inertias are given for the motor, but I can't find any mention of the inertia of the actual gearbox. I've looked at SEW and Nord catalogs with no luck. I assume this will have a large enough effect that it will be...
I have beam (no this is not a homework problem!) that's loaded in two axis, both x-x and y-y. Is it valid in any way to calculate each stress and deflection of each separately and then combine them to get the overall case? If this approach isn't valid, what should I look at next?
Thanks!
John
I'm looking for a way to calculate the force required to move a vertical plate having width .75" through a pile of material with a known density, cross section, and particle top size.
The closest I've been able to come is calculating the force necessary to displace the required volume of...
Good idea.
From the motor end: 10 in of shaft, then a bearing, then 10in of shaft and the scoop, then another ten inches and the second bearing. I'm planning on attaching the shaft to the scoop using two keyless locking hubs. The motor/gearbox will be foot mounted and connected to the shaft...
Hi all, I'm trying to design a rotating shaft for a large piece of machinery. It is supported by two bearings with a scoop mounted to the middle of the shaft between the bearings. The scoop is perpendicular to the shaft so that as the shaft rotates the scoop sweeps material away. It is driven...
