    Pipe Gate Design - Deflection

This is a simple project, but I want to have some data to back up my logic. I have not done a calculation like this is years, so I want to make sure I'm correct. I am having to use 2" Schedule 40 piping for a pipe gate and I want to make sure that there wont be too much deflection. Using one...

Buffer Fluid for -215 F Process (Plan 52 Seal Arrangement)

Thanks all! I'm not sure about that 50/50 mixture, but my initial thought is that it would freeze. I'll look into it. As of now gas seals sound like a must!

Buffer Fluid for -215 F Process (Plan 52 Seal Arrangement)

Hello All, Does anyone have any success with running a certain type of buffer fluid on a Plan 52 (unpressurized tandem seal) @ -215 F? We are running liquid and liquid lower as of now. Yes I know we should be running a gas seal somewhere....we're working on that. The process fluid is Methane...

    O-ring for cryogenic service (-200F)?

Yes, the elastomer will not be of much use. The link I posted also contains a reference to their "astra" seal, which is indeed a SS ring loaded design. That is the one I will do a bit of research on. Temp range is -420 to 500 F! Thanks for the help!
