Currently I have an assembly. I am using the FeatureManager search with "Filter Graphics View" checked. However, what do I do if I want a subassembly to stay there no matter what I type?
So, any ideas on how to do this?
Thanks
You are correct, it does not provide this feature. I was thinking of using tags for this, but if you think writing a macro is a better option, then I ask for your help.
I was thinking something more along the lines of getting the information from clicking on the model itself, so all of the data would be easier to visualize.
Basically the assembly is a large room of servers that are different configurations with custom properties.
So primarily, I want have it...
OK, so I have an assembly with a bunch of different configurations in it.
-What is the easiest way to view the custom properties of a configuration?
-Is there a way to select all of the parts whose current configuration share a custom property?
Thanks,

I am making a model of a room of servers. I have the servers all of the servers as different configurations of the same server, so that I can define custom properties (like the client that uses that server). Also, they are derived components of the default part.
Now I want to be able to make...
Sorry for the double post, just wanted to clear some things up.
Firstly, I meant CAD instead of AutoCAD. Don't know how that one slipped up.
Basically asking if you feel that SolidWorks is appropriate for this task, or if you know of something better suited for it.
I hope this is the right place to have posted this.
Anyway, the company I work for does not have any sort of AutoCAD or 3-D modeling license. The primary usage for this would be to effectively recreate a very expansive room of servers to both have a three dimensional model to use at...
