the hatch is associative. but this is the only machine that deletes the boudry objects too.

I have a system with autocad 2002 when i hatch something and then try to delete the hatch all objects the hatch touches are also deleted. anyone encounter this before?

my preference if i am going to work on the drawing again is to use it as an xref. you can scale it in the x and y directions just like a block, and changin it is easy because its still 1 to 1 for editing.
