    can anybody please explain how the differences in co-efficients of linear expansion for chrome plating and 17-4 PH stainless steel can cause macro-cracks (crazing efect) after heat generated from post plate polish. Thanks Mandy

    CRAZING (MACRO CRACKS) IN HARD CHROME PLATING

    Can anyone please give me some information on possible causes for crazing on hard chrome plating (macro cracking). I believe that high temperatures caused by grinding/polishing and pre-treatment of substrate are favourites. The substrate is 17-4PH. Thanks Mandy
