    induction motor performance

Three-phase induction motors are being supplied by an OPEN Y-DELTA transformer bank, i.e., there are only two primary phases. If one of the primary phases opens, what is the effect on the motors ?

Ckt Bkr Derating with High THD Loads

I am supplying loads with THD = 120%. Do I need to derate the ckt bkrs ?

    Genset Performance

Standby genset needed to supply motors (1.5 hp to 7.5 hp). Mfr A says his 40 kW set will supply the load; Mfr B says he must use a 100 kW. Why the huge difference ?

    System Grounding with Emergency Generators

EGC (equipment grounding conductor)originating at service switchboard is bonded to 480V, Y-connected generator's equip bonding terminal. Ground ring at genset is bonded to genset neutral and to EGC. Genset is approx 400 ft from switchboard. There are no 277 loads so there is no NEUTRAL...

    solid vs resistance grounding

480, 3ph, 3 wire system supplied by generator. Should generator neutral be solid grounded or resistance grounded ? If resistance, how is resistor rating determined ?

    Neutral to minimize voltage imbalance

If a Feeder ckt supplies only 3-ph and 208 1-ph loads, will adding the neutral conductor minimize voltage imbalance ? Or does neutral accomplish nothing ?
