Thanks everyone,
As suggested by SANDCOUNTER, I am doubting the size of the force 128062N.
Take it a stage further from jlnsol:-
Circumference at the weld = 888*PI = 2789.7
Shear strength of weld material is 285N/mm2
Bearing in mind there are 2 welds.
So, area of weld required = 128062/285/2 =...
Hi,
Not done this sort of things since college days.
Some input would be much appreciated.
Please refer to the attached .pdf. The diagram is a schematic drawing only.
In order to determine the weld size, I need to calculate the force (N) at the diameter of the welds (888mm).
The inner flange...
Walterke.
It is intended to be operated by Oil.
Time will be a factor in the final circuit design although not to the nth degree.
I was just curious to see if there is a standard formula for the time to build the pressure. If there is, and depending on the magnitude, it may be a factor to...
Cheers micalbrch.
OK.
Consider the attached sketch of the piston.
To reach full stroke(16mm)in 1 second, I calculate that the flow rate would have to be 0.61932 L/min.
When the rod has reached full stroke, at what rate does the pressure...
I am trying to find a formula to determine the time required to build pressure in a cylinder.
ie. how much time would it take build pressure of 6000 psi in a cylinder by 'dead ending' it.
Once again, apologies for my lack of programming knowledge.
We cannot get to the source code, we just run the file as an application.
What does this suggest?
Please forgive my ignorance in advance, I am not a software engineer
so here goes.
We have a version of an old basic program written in the 1980's.
We believe it is compiled.
We are looking to have it re-written.
Is this possible?
I am looking to design a system to test the wear characteristics between components A & B.
I require the cylinder to apply a pressure of 0 to 6000 psi in 1 second then return to start position in 1 second, ie 2 second cycle time. The intention is to run the test for 76,000 cycles. The clearance...
I require to produce 8:ff slits, 0.2mm wide X 165mm long in the wall of a tube which is 56mm o/d X 50.8 i/d. I have enquired about laser and water jet cutting and been informed that these are not suitable for this application. Wire erosion is a possibility. Any ideas?
