it is the actual wall, specifically partition walls between water tanks...
we're planning precast rc walls, details of which are the same with the cast-on-place concrete (vertical & horizontal rebars for each face with spacers...size @ 2.0m x 1.0m x 0.25m (lwt), concrete 3000psi@28days design...
good day to all...
i am very appreciative of the commentaries, suggestions and additional insights by you over the concerns i previously have...
here's now : i am considering to apply precast concrete walls for our ongoing water tank project as we are on a tight schedule...can anyone give me...
many thanks to all of you!...
one thing, is there any code(s) that would technically back-up these concepts and would also practically specify when are test specimens for rupture are required?...
thanks again and more power....
good day to all...
we are doing the construction of a water tank...we are on the phase where we are constructing the RC walls...
this is the case: our inspector required us to get beam samples for the retaining walls and do the test for the modulus of rupture...
my question : is it necessary...
hi guys...
just wanna ask : is the hammer test results, say an average of 3500psi corresponds to 3500psi compressive strength of the concrete structure?
we conducted the rebound hammer test for an RC wall with a specified compressive strength of 3500psi @ 28days...the age of concrete is about...
thank you hokie66 and BigH...
one thing more, could you advise if you know of some chapter or section of the ACI or ASTM that state the provision for such concrete testing?
on other matters, i am researching on non-destructive method in compressive capacity test... is the reading on the...
thanks BigH...
actually, i was wondering if it was requirement since the retaining wall is subjected to flexural loads due to the water or earth it resists...
although, theoretically, we could convert the compressive test result to corresponding flexural or moment capacity by some formula we...
goog day...
could anyone advise if it is required by existing standards(say ASTM), to get beam samples (and of course, testing) for reinforced concrete walls?..if so, what could be the possible mode of test? one-point? two-point? three-point? what could be our basis if test results are passing...
good day...
could anyone provide a sample computation in determining the weight of aggregates (washed sand and crushed G-3/4 gravel) per volume of concrete for a 3500psi capacity at 28days?
please include also the number of liters of water for every volume of concrete.
thank you
good day to all...
if, may i seek your idea on the actual volume of poured concrete versus the estimated theoretical volume as referred from the construction drawings...
could there be any difference between them? sometimes i get this estimated volume of readymix concrete and then during the...
to bimr..there wont be piping system in the gap between the walls
anyway, thank you very very much guys for the info and recommendations...they helped a lot...
i see...thanks bimr!
one crazy idea had popped up from my not-so-brainy head : how would you think if i would consider that there wont be a gap anymore? the 1st wall shall be the form siding for the 2nd wall. first i will pour concrete for the 1st RC wall then after form-stripping &...
thanks JedClampett...
yes bimr, air gap i mean also a 2nd wall a few inches away from the 1st wall.
since there is a space limit for the required volume of the sludge tank, i am thinking of a 0.40-m gap enough to give space for waterproofing works..my next concern would be : the tank are...
good day...
we are to construct again a water storage tank; this time, a 2-basin reinforced concrete water storage tank. one chamber will hold sludge from "blowdown" operation of water clarifiers and the other chamber will hold the treated water. what could be the best waterproofing method to...
i am designing a suspended slab to carry 5 water distribution pumps of various capacities, ie: 60Hp, 250psi. the pumps are of centrifugal type. is there any rule of thumb in load analysis prior to designing the required reinforcement of suspended slab in relation to vibration, lateral loads, etc...
