Hi HatemAGA
Other then ASTM, Some method that can be use to determine the ultimate from the static loading test such as Davidson, P-Y curve, Chin, Manoppo and Koumoto (Fitting Method by my self) , Mazurkiwics etc...

Fabian
Thanks dick this the problem in the development country sometimes difficult to understand their behaviour.
Thanks hokie digging will need a lot of time
Thanks hokie, yes some of the bridges foundation were damaged because its couldn't installed the foundation (driven pile, bored pile or caisson) into the design depth because of the limitation of heavy equipments and the river was given heavy scouring
Thanks hokie, This is real case in some part of my provinces has a geology problem which the boulders and gravel around 5cm to 1m covered about 10m. Mostly the bridges foundation were failed because of limitation of heavy equipments(high cost) and the length of bridge about 25m to 200m. The main...
Dear all, Do you have any experiences about the type of foundation or method of installation into Boulder & Gravel layered soil (covered about 10m) without using heavy equipment(high cost).
There are two things you have to take into account:
1.It should bigger than 5B B=diameter of pile (better to see some literature)
2.Vibration effect caused of your digging
Thanks BigH for your comment's, I was used directly N value based on SPT value without any correction or convert to Phi then Meyerhof Formula (Poulos and Davis book's)for computing the Qu based on SPT. There are two reason why I was used directly and proposed a correction factor m ; 1.All SPT...
Thanks mudman54...still need your comment? Generally Ultimate Bearing Capacity of Pile computed based on SPT data is bigger compare than O'Cell or PDA test, because static or dinamic loading test in the filed should take care about the damage of pile. I was found some factor based on the load...
Meyerhof's etc formula for computing the Ultimate Bearing Capacity (UBC) of Pile based on Standart Penetration Test (SPT)data will be giving various value of UBC also I was tried to compare with PDA and O'Cell result so which is better to use?
1.Shallow footing commonly on end bearing because skin friction very small
2.End bearing depend on the shear strength etc of soil soit's increasing as deep of foundation increasing
3.Analytically, the skin friction value are different for shallow foundation and deep foundation
4.We can neglected...
Replacing the material or deep foundation should be based on both economically results analysis in case of deep foundation you can do correction the Ni value at the deep level of liquefaction while pile settlement should be take care too
You can do static loading test the same way for pile then the ultimate bearing capacity you can compute based on the load-settlement curve by using Chin's,Manoppo&Koumoto,P-Y Curve,etc..the results can compare with indirect data to make sure..

Pier, bored or driven pile you have to take care with Uplift and lateral load for tower so Uplift analytically computed based on Meyerhof's Formula also for lateral load and vertical load. You can try Brom's also for lateral load
