Scaling or offsetting mold cavity surfaces?

Yes, you can position the holes after scaling. If the part has several holes you now must place the holes in the cavity making sure to take into account the scaling factor for correct hole position...it could a lot of time if there are several holes of varying sizes. It would be nice if the...

Scaling or offsetting mold cavity surfaces?

I often use the mold/cavity function to create a nest for parts. What I've been doing is uniform scaling the part that I'm making the mold cavity from if the part has no holes but if the part has holes I offset the surfaces and connect the surfaces...which takes time. I can't uniform scale the...

Easiest method of making an impression of a part

I have a plate with several different size bosses and grooves that I need to make an impression of. I intend to make a nest for this plate. What is the easiest way to go about this? Currently, I sketch the plate using the inverse of the print but I now have the model of the part but don't...

Eric, I tried doing that but couldn't find where it gives me the option to change it.

    Printing to PDF troubles

I can print as a PDF by using "save as" but it's MUCH slower than printing to a PDF in cutepdf writer. It worked as it should by unchecking the "set each drawing sheet individually" box. Wonder how to set this to be unchecked by default?

    Printing to PDF troubles

On drawings that have multiple pages, I can print all sheets to the printer or plotter just fine. All sheets print. When I print to a PDF (CutePDF writer), it will print sheet one to a file...I save the file..then it prompts to print the remaining sheets (sheet 2-x) which I save to a different...

In SW 2010 it's under Document properites/center lines/center marks. Can't believe I missed it the first go 'round.

    How to dimension slotted holes?

DanStro, I've tried that. It hasn't worked. I still get the one center mark in the center of the slot.

    How to dimension slotted holes?

When trying to dimension a slotted hole in a drawing, the center mark command will only put a one center mark in the center of the slot and not the center of the two holes used to make the slot. How can I put both center marks in the slot in order to properly dimension it?

    Need help locating holes

I'm having trouble locating holes from one part to another. For example, I have modeled one part (part A) that has thru holes. I've brought this part into an assembly and mated it with another part (part B). I want to locate the holes from part A to part B so I can cut and tap the holes into...

    Dimension modify box

Hi all. I'm new to the forum and relatively new to Solidworks 2010. I copied settings from a coworker and his dimension modify box is turned off. While sketching, I prefer for the dimension box to automatically pop up (so I can enter the correct dimension) while attempting to dimension a line...
