    Ignition timing vs engine torque

Pat, the RPM was being controlled from Labview, by varying the load on the engine by the dynamometer. Greg, thanks for that chart, I found some good examples in heywood. Rod, I wasn't actually testing the engine. it was used for commissioning a new water brake dynamometer. However, I was...

    Ignition timing vs engine torque

yes the timing was fixed for each test. the butterfly was left wide opened for the whole duration of the test, and the rpm was varied through computer control for each timing setting. Thanks

    Ignition timing vs engine torque

Yes I heard some misfire at 0 BTDC but not that much. Attached you may see my tabulated results. Cheers tbughttp://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=a8964658-c5ad-4a5d-bddd-3eaec75280b4&file=steady_state_test-comp.xls

    Ignition timing vs engine torque

Hi all, I am currently testing a ford escort 1100 cc petrol engine through a water break dynamometer. I carried out steady state tests for 0, 4 and 12 BTDC through an RPM range of 1500 to 4000, in steps of 500. the total torque for O degree timing was low compared to 4 and 12 degrees. I was...

    Exhaust Pollution

The scrubber suggested by IRstuff seems a quite reasonable option. In you opinion which are the best: dry or wet? Thank you all for your help! Ter

    Exhaust Pollution

The offices are not in the same building as the lab. By surrounding the lab I meant on the outside of the lab. Sorry for confusion. The thing is that the lab is only one storey high from ground, while the adjacent buildings are higher with respect to its rooftop. All other test cells are vented...

    Exhaust Pollution

The problem is that all other test cells in the lab have an exhaust circuit to vent directly to the outside. But I am getting too much complaints from the offices surrounding the lab. The HVAC fan is one good option for ventilation, but I think I need another system to accompany the ducting in...

    Exhaust Pollution

Hi all, I am currently designing an engine test bed for our labs. It will be probably used for a carburetor Ford Escort engine (although it is still considered as an option for now). My headache is a how to find a practical cheap design on how to minimize the exhaust smell and pollution from...

    Autodesk Inventor 2011

Hi all, I've been using Autodesk Inventor Professional 2011 for the past months. I am currently designing an engine test bed for our labs. I have been able to find the second moment of area of individual parts of the structure, such as I beams and U channels , etc. Is it possible that the...
