Can someone help me out with the formula for internal pressure t-min calcs of nozzle elbows.
I need to perform t-min calcs on 45, 90, & 180 degree buttwelded elbows for ASME SEC VIII div 1 codes. I have wall losses in nozzle elbows and want to determine remaining life.
I did find the formula in...
I need to perform a t-min calc for a methonal sphere (UG-32f). Where do I find the crown radius of a 24" hemispherical head with a wall thickness of 0.375"? I don't have access to the U1-A form.
I have carried out several semi elliptical head t-min calcs but this is my first hemi-head.
Any and...
Can someone help me out with the formula for internal pressure t-min calcs.
I need to perform t-min calcs on 45, 90, & 180 degree buttwelded elbows for both B31.3 and ASME SEC VIII div 1 codes. I have wall losses in both piping elbows and nozzle elbows.
I did find the fromula in B31.3 304.2.1...
TJorlowski I tend to agree with you, unfourtunately I do not usually have access to MDR's. In your opinion if a nozzle with a short projection welded to and elbow than a flange would it not make more sence to call all three compnents part of the nozzle even if there is as many as three welded...
It is still not real clear in the code sections you referenced XL83NL. I think it comes down to the engineering behind the vessel that determines the nozzle end point.
Not sure what your talking about chicopee I'm not refering to boilers. If you meant pressure vessels how is it obvious to the...
I know a nozzle is a component of a pressure vessel, what I am not clear on is where it stops being a nozzle and becomes piping.
Is it to the first joint regardless of the following connections?
Example; if the fist joint after the Cat "D" shell attachment weld is another weld and the...
