    Warping constant for RHS sections

Guys, Thanks for your reply. I understand that the RHS do not warp and we can ignore the torsion due to warping. In such case, it would be enough to consider only the St.Venant torsion for RHS. Also is it necessary to verify the combined bending and torsion too? Thanks.

    Warping constant for RHS sections

Hi, Could you please let me know, how to calculate the "Warping constant" for RHS sections? Regards, Mugundan

    Torsion on RHS sections

Hi, I have an edge beam with RHS section which is subjected to eccentric loading which creates torsion on the member. Is there any limit (According to EC) on the length of the members so that the LTB can be discounted? Or is there any limit on the h/b ratios? Thanks in advance Mugundan.

Shear center for I section with base plate

    Thanks for your valuable responses.

Torsional constant for I beam with base plate

Thanks again for your kind response. Please find calculations in the attachment[link Torsion]Link[/url]. Although the difference in buckling resistance is small, there is a considerable difference in the effects because of the value of "Torsional constant". Since the Effects are high, the...

Shear center for I section with base plate

Hi, Thanks very much for your response. I here with attached the image for your reference. For RHS with bottom plate, is there any way to identify the shear center or is it be advisable to ignore the bottom plate? Thanks Mugundan.

Torsional constant for I beam with base plate

Guys, Thanks a lot for your reply. The estimated "J" calculated by considering as an single elements is approx. 2.5 times greater than the value of "J" calculated as individual elements. I don't want to be too conservative. So, would it be reasonable to consider them as single element if I have...

Shear center for I section with base plate

Hi, How to estimate the position of shear center for an sym I beam with base plate welded to the bottom of flange? Regards, Mukund.

Torsional constant for I beam with base plate

Hi, How to estimate torsional constant for a I section with a base plate at the bottom flange? Can I simply add the torsional constant of the plate tb^3/3 to the torsional constant of the I section? Or DO I need to consider the thickness of bottom flange = thickness of bottom flange of I section...
