Dear Faisal,
Regarding your last Q,
(Is flat Plate really can resist in dynamic load analysis?)Is not clear.
I think Flat Plate can resist any type of loads as the other types of slab can do; the difference is only in vibration phenomena/problems.
Hi Dears,
I am going to analyse a 2D frame for EQ lateral load of an important structure. In the drawing -details attached, I would like to know how the diagonal reinforcements in the joint contribute to resist the compressive force, due to closing of the first story column.
To be specific, I...

Could anyone tell me what does...
Thanks to all,
Dear Ron, I am thinking about the cost and structural response especially due to lateral load; BUT erection of a water tank will also cost much or equal to this.
And as MiketheEngineer said, using pump will be an option.
Dear Teguci, the building is in a moderate seismic region...
Using dowels anchored (pasted) with epoxy for shear transfer will do work better if there is concern of huge bending moment, otherwise, wrapping the existing column with FRP would be a better choice.
Hi,
I am going to design a high rise building (16 story) and have to think of water supply as well.
I like to put the Water Tank on the top of the building. Can anyone advice me to do this or not?, what would be its effects (good or bad) on the structural response for lateral loads?
Is there any...
Hello,
Regarding your question, i can say that the water contained in the tank is for use, and it is going to reduce when water is using. when amount of water spill out more than the volume of the small thank considered for producing pressure the water level will go down fast and before starting...
hello,
if you want to issue a statement and make report only for this purpose, you do not need to sketch piping. just list all the mentioned items in columns for each day in a month.

An RC girder is cracked just 120 cm from its support, the crack is deepen enough from all four sides.
What is the major risk for that?
what do i need to do to repair it for use?
respects.
