The flow and rain problems all depend on the size of the opening when it comes to the wire mesh - if you are using mesh with a large opening - obviously - more flow gets through the mesh, therefore effecting everything else. If you are using a finer mesh - something like the 40 x 40 wire mesh...
When it comes to the wire cloth mesh being flame retardant, and made of what I suspect will have to be inconel or another high temperature alloy, I would go out and ask a manufacturer of this material ---
I believe these guys deal with a lot of high temperature alloys (...
Yeah I just stumbled across this is my google searches, apologize for the time delay. I do a lot of R and D work in Wire Cloth, so I seek out specs quite a bit.
Thanks,
When it comes to wire cloth specs, always check with the experts. It will only take a few calls for you to recover the information on the spec you are looking for, try 2 or 3 of these guys, they are the experts in this material and at least 1 of them will have thi info for you...
Fabricator's of this welded and woven wire mesh material will know exactly what you are looking for and how strong each material will be. In the past, I have called on Belleville Wire Cloth and they can usually supply the right information.
They supply material that ranges from aerospace grade...
