Im just wondering since our pre heat echanger was bypass due to fouling. Why do we need pre heat exchanger before entering Heater Treater. Our emulsion is about 25 deg C inlet and exiting at 50 to 55 deg C.. Can somebody tell me on what purpose it is.

MJCronin I have done HAZOP already and its entirely different from single point of failure. in my understanding it is more critical than HAZOP that can cause immediate production lost or Plant Shutdown

Base in my experience on ESP if is operating againts closed valve it might trip on overload.. if low production it will trip on underload
