    restarting analysis from step 2

My job in abaqus consists of two steps. First step runs fine. I am trying to correct the 2nd step. How do I restart my analysis from the 2nd step, without having to recompute the analysis for step 1.

No convergence in the second step

Even when I propogate the same load (and boundary conditions) in step two (and deactivate the interaction module), the solver does not converge. I use a direct solver.

No convergence in the second step

Here is the image file of my model. http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=f7a40ac2-0972-4be3-87fb-8d57825f4124&file=abaqus.jpg The pic on the left is the undeformed solid object. We apply cylidrically inward force (step 1) on the "legs," and we deform the object as shown in the...

No convergence in the second step

Hello, I have a certain static loading on an object in the first step, and the abaqus direct solver converges in a single iteration. I have another step in which I propogate the same boundary conditions and the loads, but the solver does not converge. I am not sure why. I am using the second...

    dealing with two orphan meshes

I have two orphan meshes in inp format: a) first is a beam-like geometry (n1 nodes, m1 elements), and b) second is a surface mesh of a nearly-cylindrical geometry (n2 nodes, m2 element). I want to find the final node position upon application of certain loads such that the beam-like geometry...
