I am trying to run a simulation of applying an extra pressure to a contact area while the contact area is constantly changing with time.The problem is shown in the pic of the attachment.
I wonder if this is possible, if so? How can I do this.

Are you suggesting this might be caused by hourglassing? I thought as long as I have 4 or more elements along thickness direction, hourglassing won't be a problem. Am I right about this?
