    Simpson TB Screw Alternative?

I am already specifying that the beams be galvanized as well, thanks for the info on the membrane, that's an interesting alternative for future applications.

    Simpson TB Screw Alternative?

I'm going to be using galvanized bolts, and I will be countersinking them as I have decking that is going to be layed out on top of the nailer/joists.

    Simpson TB Screw Alternative?

I think I might have to go this route, do you typically countersink the bolts into the nailer?

    Simpson TB Screw Alternative?

I forgot to mention that I am looking for a product similar to this because I would like to avoid field drilling the top flanges. A self tapping screw that can go through the two materials (instead of drilling with a nut/bolt) will save a lot of time/money.

    Simpson TB Screw Alternative?

I'm sure those would be fine, I need to find/specify a product that can go through a 2x and a W8x24 (3/8" flange thickness).

    Simpson TB Screw Alternative?

Hello all, I need a product similar to the TB screw by Simpson ( http://www.strongtie.com/products/fasteners/TB-screw-loads.html ). My issue with the TB screws is that the steel member I need to connect my timber nailer to is 3/8" thick, and it will be located in an outdoor environment. I...

    Timber nailer on steel beam

Sorry guys, I realized I posted this to the wrong forum, then I posted it to the correct one, that is the only reason it was posted twice. Would somebody mind telling me how to delete the thread? I don't see any option besides Red Flagging the post.

    Timber nailer on Steel beam

I was thinking about placing bolts on opposite sides of the web, but I couldn't find any info on sizing these either. Most likely this is the route we will go, however, I would really like to see some type of reference talk about this type of connection before I specify it.

    Timber nailer on Steel beam

I have steel members that will be supporting timber decking. In order to attach the decking to the steel members, I need to design the connection between a timber nailer and the top flange of our W8 shape. I have done a little research and have found that a normal detail for this would be to...

Need help with anchor bolt design, unconventional arrangement.

They are catilevered off the precast slightly. Over an 84' span, it ranges from no cantilever, out to 4' cantilever, and then back. I will check out Dayton Superior, I hadn't really thought of checking any type of standard precast inserts, that's a great idea, thanks.

Need help with anchor bolt design, unconventional arrangement.

Yes, sorry, that's exactly what I'm saying. There is no uplift at the anchor points, only downward (compressive) forces.

Need help with anchor bolt design, unconventional arrangement.

Hello all, this is my first post on these forums, hopefully somebody can help me out here. I am currently working on a prestressed box beam bridge. The architect must have a timber walkway adjacent to the roadway across the bridge. We have decided to support this walkway using timber joists...
