Hello Everyone,
I am looking to develop a single line showing the installation of a new 66kv sub and a ten mile long cable to a platform. Cable will terminate in a new power distribution center. Incoming line from SCE is at 66KV
Here is some thought I have:
1)New substation at 66KV to a...
dpc,
Thank You. Is the 1000' ft incorporated in the load flow diagram? Is there a way to do these calculations by hand. I would appreciate it if you could share that.
Hello,
I am trying to calculate the % voltage drop and figure out the best approach to the scenario below
I have a SCE Overhead line 16.5KV feeding a transformer which steps the voltage down to 480V which then supplies a control panel about a 1000 feet away. From the panel, we have a firewater...
magoo2,
Definitely not a homework problem but an actual scenario I need to justify backing use of the 300KVA transformer. SCE believes the 150KVA should work but I feel this may not be the case considering that distance. In any case, thanks for your help.
magoo2,
I am using a program created by someone else currently. I got it from the web. I am actually looking for specific equations to do the hand calculation
For Example,
the 300KVA transformer I tried at normal impedance
is giving me
Volts @ 150 HP motor Design 480V, Calculated 409.3V...
Thank you Jraef. I was thinking of Harmonics as well but I guess I need to support the argument and not just make a bare statement. Do you have any other recommendations material wise to read(IEEE papers etc) that could help me support my stance that VFD harmonics in essence may affect the...
Hello All,
I have an MCC 453 that has capacitors placed to help with power factor correction. On the same bus, there is a VFD present as well. Would anyone happen to know if the VFD could potentially affect the CAPS. Please share your thoughts
Thanks
