    dwg/dxf to abaqus

I have found some arcs to be not as smooth as I would like and some times the fillet feature in CAD will leave edges you need to trim in Abaqus, but not so many problems that you couldn't clean up the sketch a little and work from there. I usually save my files as a 2010 dxf. Sorry I could...

    dwg/dxf to abaqus

Make sure that the model is in the position you want it in (orientation, etc.), remove all excess layers and words, title blocks then save the CAD file as a dxf. when you start your abaqus model import the sketch(es). create a new part then just add the sketch you imported.

    Rigid Body Contact (with motion..?)

***WARNING: I am going to need a lot of help with this. Sorry if these questions seem trivial but I am really lost on this one and it should be simple or so I thought... I am attempting to model a portion of a threaded connection (box and pin) to better understand the stress on the external...

    Threaded Connection (Contact)

Yes corus, during the analysis I have one contact control set for automatic over closure tolerances, friction to be onset immediately and the automatic stabilization is on.

    Threaded Connection (Contact)

Thanks to you both for the tips. The deformation scale was set at one. However, I discovered that I needed to redefine the interactions and turn the auto stabilization on. My model has successfully made it through step 1, make-up. Make-up includes 7 interactions. Currently, the model halts...

    Threaded Connection (Contact)

Hello all. I'm new to the group, but I've been browsing trying to find helpful hints for my abaqus model. I am very new to abaqus. I'm modeling a threaded connection (box and pin) including contact. My model has 4 steps (initial, make-up, internal pressure and compression) which simulate the...
