In one of our ASU's we have 2 booster/expander combinations in the same air stream.
Normally we only have 1 of them in production. We only use both combinations during startup of the plant, or in the case we need much extra liquid.
We used to isolate and derime the unused combination.
Now, I was thinking, it would be easier when we're don't derime the unused one. In that way, it would be possible to startup the machine directly.
Also, there would be less coldlosses.
In mine opinion, as long as we keep the sealgas and the oilsystem up and running, there wouldn't be a problem.
Does anyone have expirience with this? Does anyone know a reason not to do this?
Thank you in advance.
