Ok, big block of 1006 type carbon steel machined with various tapped holes.
There are other components being fastened to it with a mix of material types of fasteners. Some stainless and some Gr5.

I thought with cs you could not use a ss fastener? Did not see any notes on any of the drawings about using never-seize.
Am I missing something?

What would be the type of fastener to use with 1006?

Thanks

You have one those it depends type questions. There normally isn't anything wrong using Never-Seize unless it is strictly prohibited. Grade 5 is vary good starting point.

Could you post a little more details?

What size fasteners?

What is the loading?

Corrosion resistance needed?

My fasteners are 1/4-20 x 5/8 lg. qty is 14 screws.
Just mounting a 9'long 1x1 thin wall tube on the top surface. The components will be inside and no one has ever mentioned an issue with corrosion resistance.

Thanks
