I am new to this forum and was hoping to find some help out there. I'm trying to simplify an existing design that uses an off-the-shelf motor controller and our own PIC-16 based control board. I would like to design a very simple 150VDC power supply that I can then use PWM controls to achieve motor speed control.
The problem I'm having is how to make a simple circuit that can be used globally with 115V 60hz OR 230V 50hz. There are no voltage switches or wiring changes allowed. You must be able to plug it in anywhere in the world and change nothing but the power cable.
Is there a simple way to use either voltage efficiently and get 150VDC output max? There are lots of ways to do this but since I'm fairly new to switching power supplies I thought I'd ask for help before spending any money.
Thanks
