I have been unable to find the person who asked this question but:
There are some key structural differences between the 1996 edition of the BOCA code and the 1999 edition of the BOCA Code.
Section 1608 Snow Load was changes
Section 1603.5 Wind Load was revised
Section 1603.4 Roof Loads was revised.
My recommendation is to purchase the 1999 edition of the BOCA Code if you are planning to use it for the PE exam. Use of the 1996 edition could lead to problems.
