I have a carbon steel vessel that is corroded and is to be replaced.

We want to change the materials of construction.

The process is water sparge wash with caustic spray to raise the PH from 2 to 7PH.

However the spray is not finely controlled and the PH has gone as high as14PH.

A 100# steam sparger is used to flash off any Hydrocarbons present to flare.

PH Range 2-14 PH. Chlorides are at 500 PPM. Temperature may be as high as 300 F under sparger. 20 PSIG operating.

Would 316L SS or 2205 perform in this environment?

Not 316 for sure. You would run the risk of cracking from a number of different reasons.
2205 looks like a rational option.
Have you thought of a ferritic stainless? You would have less corrosion resistance but a lot better than with mild steel. An 18% Cr or 18%Cr 2%Mo would be another option.

I would also consider at the given conditions the 'poor man's Duplex' 2101, as cost competitive and better availability.

or 2201 or 2202, depending where you are in the world.
They are all low Ni, Mo free, lean duplex grades.

There isn't an option that will be fully corrosion resistant in your application, but these should be good enough to give you reasonable service.
