Does any know or point me to the calculation method for computing the joint strength of 2" NPT (SS-316 material) Male x Female threads? Also need to calculate the shear strength of the threads.

I was surprised I couldn't find an online calculator for getting the shear area of the threads. It would certainly be easy enough to approximate using the average thread minor diameter (for external threads) and length of engagement.

What strength are you looking for? Strength in bending, shear load, axial load?

What is a "Male x Female thread"?

"What is a "Male x Female thread"?" I suspect that it's a bushing.
