Hello,

I colleague of mine has a boring machine that is 3 phase 2 speed. The machine is changed to 1 phase, and also only 1 speed. He wants now to reverse this, and make it 3 phase and 2 speed again, so he asked me for a wiring diagram of those kinds of boring machines.

Anyone who knos where to find something like that?

Thanks!

Denan

Thanks for the tip, I just searched fhis forum for some similar topics, and found few threads. I'll try Google as well.

Forgot to mention, there is a switch on the machine 1-0-2 for speed changing...

Try looking at moeller electric website or siemens they both have engineers hand books that show all this type of windings and switch combinations, Also if you know any one that has an english Brook motors "red book" that will almost certainly have a drawing in it!

There are a few ways of getting two or more speeds out of a motor and it would help to have some idea which method is being used before trying to guess the connections. Is there any information on the motor nameplate? A photo would be perfect.

Sean,

Yes, the Little Red Book is a great reference, it's a shame it is no longer published.

If we learn from our mistakes I'm getting a great education!

Scotty, thanks to you, I think I snagged the last copy of that little red book of Brook's.

Thanks for all tips, I tried Google and found some drawings that may give an idea.

No need to try anymore, my colleague found something that helped him make it 3 ph 2 speed again, before I found anything.

But thanks again for all the help!
