The Specification says, "The emergency lighting system shall be redundant (2x100%)". The minimum average illumination level provided by the emergency lighting shall be 30% of the level provided by the normal lighting system.

Say, I have designed to meet the requirements of 30% of the level provided by the normal lighting system and I have the below questions
Do I have to duplicate the number of emergency fixtures to meet the redundancy? (or)
Do I have to supply the emergency light fixtures which can accept power from two different emergency sources? (or)
Do I have to supply the emergency light fixtures with inbuilt battery backup to meet the redundancy (or)
Do I need to provide ATS that can combine from two different emergency power sources; with this, Emergency light fixture which can accept one power source can be powered.

How do you interpret this specification?

I would ask the spec writer.
Also, is the 30% before or after the 2x100% is applied?
