Does anyone know what "TPVVF" indicates when refering to a General Electric circuit breaker? The breaker is about 20 years old. More specifically the breaker in question is descibed as a TPVVF 3608. I need to replace this breaker, but I need to know what I've got, before knowing how to replace it. I've contacted GE, but have not heard back from them as of yet.

Thanks,

Call GE again. They should know what it is:

TPVVF3608

GE PowerBreak insulated-case circuit breaker

TP = Standard interrupting duty
VV = Micro-Versa Trip trip unit
F = Breaker Frame Catalog # (??)
3 = 800A frame
6 = 600V ac
08 = 800A sensor

The "standard" interrupting rating is 50kA at 480V

dpc,

Thanks for the help. Hopefully I'll be able to find a replacement now.

FYI:

Satin American specializes is old circuit breakers, switchgear, transformers, etc... They sell remanufactured equipment that is no longer in production. I found them VERY helpful.
