200 sq. ft. Anechoic Chamber Fire Protection Requirements

Could anyone lend a hand or point me in the right direction towards finding the requirements for an anechoic chamber of 200 sq. ft? We are a university lab and installing the chamber inside of another room. We are set to meet with the building code person on campus, but as you can imagine they are very resistive to doing any type of work. I would just like to be somewhat knowledgeable (if possible) before our meeting. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What are your concerns?

Does the building/ room it is going in have a fire sprinkler system?

In general terms what is going on inside of it?

What fire potential is there inside?? Lights, electrical equipment other ignition sources???

I assume outside is metal skin??

Thanks for the quick response. Yes, the room it is going inside has a fire sprinkler system. The chamber will be used to test antennas and other microwave/millimeter wave equipment. Inside, here will be one 120V light, a video camera, the device under test, and the test cables. It will be a high frequency environment ( ~GHz range). The ceiling and walls will consist of 2 sheets of galvanized steel with a plywood center. Normal operation will include: Hook up device under test to TX cables, hook up receiver to RX cables, leave room, close door, begin testing. Testing is basically sending high frequency (low power)signals to the TX device and observing what happens via a network analyzer.

Lucas, the only standard out there for the protection of anechoic chambers is FM. Don't quote me, but I believe it is 1-53. Register for the DAta Sheets (free) and you will have all of the info you need....and more.
