We have ACAD 2000 on all of our machines. A PE has 2004. Both are fully licensed versions. Until recently we have had no problems sending dwg files to them.

Today we had one in particular. It seems that a group of dwg's, which can be openned on any machine here, when openned by the PE, gets a message. The message says the file was created on a Educational Version and will print with a stamp indicating this.

Is there some kind of quirk in the programs? Dxf's from the same machine to the same machine have no problems.

Hi,

i don't know the reason of the plot stamp. Maybe the PE had contact somewhere, somway with an Educational Version (layer, line, layout...)
I would contact my ACAD-dealer.

best regards, Lothar

PS: What is PE? polyethylene?

From ACAD Help, under "attach xrefs":

Attachments from Educational Products
If you open, insert, or attach an xref from an Autodesk Educational Product, the drawings you plot contain the following banner: "PRODUCED BY AN AUTODESK EDUCATIONAL PRODUCT."

Check xref manager. Even though a formerly attached xref won't show up (because it isn't where the path says it is anymore), this may still happen, if this was the problem. Go into xref manager and Detach any xrefs you don't recognize. Don't just Unload, that won't do it.

Good luck,

Regretably, none of the components in our ACAD file were drawn in an Educational Version. This problem has recently popped up. We have never had this problem and we have been using 2000 for awhile, as our PE has been using 04 for awhile.

Converting our file to a dxf and then sending the drawings did work, but we still are looking for why this started.
