I am doing some engineering research and here is my question: Anyone knows the brand and amps rating of the 2002 C320's alternator? What is the pulley ratio between the alternator and the crankshaft pulley? Same question applied to this cars: 2002 Volvo S80 2.9L and 2002 Hyundai Sonata V6. Your help would be much appreciated...

Mercedes and Volvo have typically used Bosch alternators since time began.(some models use Valeo or Motorola alternators) It's usually tough to get information from most aftermarket sources for cars in the current model year and often the dealer parts department is the best source for information. Does the alternator in question look something like this:

If so its a Bosch.

Once you know the alternator manufacturer and the part number you can usually find all the other information you need at an aftermarket automotive parts supply vendor that handles Bosch or whatever the OEM manufacturer is. Bosch has a good online network if you do a search for it.
