I used this mouse with 2002+ and had this problem at first, but figured out how to fix it. Now I'm having the same problem with 2003. I can't remember how I fixed it last time - [bugeyed] Aaaagh!
Here's the deal:
I have my large thumb button (LTB) set to emulate the CNTL key. Basically, when my part/assembly/drawing is FIT TO WINDOW or "smaller", I can use LTB+WHEELBUTTON to click-drag - and all is right with the world. But, when I'm zoomed-in at all and try the same LTB+WHEELBUTTON, I get a "scroll", not the click-drag that makes my life worth living.
I have the software specific settings set the same as 2002+, but they obviously aren't working the same. The only caveat I can think of is that I have 2002+ and 2003 both loaded on my PC. Both programs have the same executable filename and I think this may be the problem. I can't add both programs to my mouse settings simultaneously, the last one I add will replace the previous.

I'd appreciate any suggestions - short of un-loading 2002+.
We will eventually, but we aren't yet ready and need to keep both.

I figured it out. [thumbsup]
FYI - Open the Intellipoint program.
Pick the WHEEL tab.
Pick ADVANCED under Wheel Troubleshooter.
Add SolidWorks 2003 to the list to "disable IntelliPoint support".
Ba da bing, Ba da boom.
Who da man now?
