2005Light Custom Plotter inconsistency?

I was curious if anyone else has had trouble with the new version of AutoCAD plot .PC3 system plot configurations we are trying to add to our Plot Manager.

We have a CADJET 2 which we have downloaded what appears to be the latest drivers from the website. Upon entering our drawings we notice that the settings seem to be changing on us. We had some trouble with the papersize cutoffs fitting our 24x36 properly scaled drawing templates, so we found it necessary to change and save a new plot configuration to a Custom, Landscape, which is 24x36.5 (.5 added).

This appears to now allow our plots to be correctly plotted, at least the first time, but the problem now is that when we enter a new file, the plot configuration manager isn't consistent with the previous settings we saved. We are finding that the Paper Size information previously saved to be Custom is now changing, without our selection, to MET DIN A1 634 x 881 mmm! And when we preview the plot it appears not to be landscaped, as previously saved and specified, but plots landscaped. But, the saved configurations isn't allowing us to plot the correctly and our border is extending off the feed and cut sheet from our plotter.

So, it appears that a new service pack is correctly loaded. However, at AutoDESK we do not see a service pack 1 for AutoCAD light, just AutoCAD. And our recent installation last month appears to be Service pack 1.

So, what i wanted to know, was if anyone else has experienced inconsistencies or can help us get AutoCAD to create a new Service Pack so we can get the settings to be saved correctly and ultimately use the new software and make our plots work? Can anyone make any suggestions? I can email a screen capture with notes of some of our modifications highlighted in yellow if someone should like.

Perhaps, by entering 36.5 in a custom format there are problems with our CADJET2 drivers and AutoCAD is getting confused.

thanks,
Steve

Just a few questions. Are you referring to "Page Setup Names" or Plotter Configuration (through Plotter Manager)? Are you saving the plot configuration with the drawing or just selecting it from the paper list each time? Are you just overriding the length when you plot or is the 36.5 a new paper size you have created? Thanks for your feedback.

Hello Borgunit,

Yes, I am referring to the apparent loss of new "Page Setup Names" which we saved in our new .PC3 file. I don't think I used the Plotter Manager. Maybe, I'm new to AutoCAD 2005Light, so I don’t think we did.

We just went to send a plot, by selecting the Plot command, and then customized the properties of the Printer/Plotter name. We changed the Media/output.

We selected to change the Properties of our CADJET2.PC3 file and then saved it. But, upon exiting and returning to a session, we noticed that the Page Setup names don't show up which we created. I can send a screen capture if you can forward me your email address.

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP! Perhaps the problem is that we plotted from Views instead of Layouts. -Chris
