We have just upgraded from SW 2006 to SW 2007 SP2.2.

SW 2006 and PDM Works 2006 worked great with our workstations(x64 and x32), network and server. Since upgrading, SW 2007 runs extremely slow when the PDM Works add-in is loaded. Once in a great while, I can succefully check-in a simple drawing after 5 minutes of waiting for the dialog box. When I start SW 2007 without the add-in, the program run great! This issue has been confirmed on workstation running x32 and x64.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Nick

No problems observed so far at my company.

Two questions for you:

1) Are your PDM login and file server local (i.e. in the same building you are)?

2) What OS is your PDM login server running?

1. We are in the same building

2. Our server runs Server 2003.

Our IT Tech just informed me that he was applying the latest 2003 MSE update? I'm not sure what that means, but I hope it works.

Check with your VAR before doing this! This is what we did once (maybe for SolidWorks 2006) to fix our PDM Vault speed. I am not sure this needs to be done in 2007. But gives you a starting point to talk to your VAR.

Get the files mfc42.dll and mfc42u.dll put then on Vault server in C:\Program Files\PDMWorks Server\Vault. Stop and restart PDM services.

Let us know what happens.

The issue has been resolved. Our IT person was in direct contact with SW, but the first representative took us down the wrong path. The second recommended we do what Bradley mentioned. That seemed to work.
