Hi,

How would you make (Catia system created

) a centerline on the area shown below by the blue arrow?

At the moment, I "faked it", by creating an arc, using the center of the housing shown above by the red arrow and the centers of the holes, shown by the two yellow arrows:

I would like to use this tool:

I spent a few more minutes and found out the way that a centerline can be constructed in cases like this.
Anybody interested in this topic?

The way I typically do that is to use the centerline/centermark (can't remember the exact name right now) with reference. Select one of the holes to put the centerline on, then select an arc with the same center as your hole pattern as the reference. When you drag the end points of the centermark that are "tangent" to the bolt circle, they will extend as an arc.

What way did you find to do it?

Caddict,

Stick got the right answer.
I had to find the answer myself, playing with the references that Stick mentioned in his reply.
I am very satisfied, most users create an arc.
Thank you both for considering my thread.

Yes we generally used to create a circle that we can then add a diameter dimension to for our manufacturing and inspection processes.
Soon I will be on the 3DX platform.
Any idea if this better handled there?
