Hi, I am conducting 2D orthogonal cutting simulation and I would like to examine the effects of cutting parameter on workpiece temperature.

I can output tool tip temperature but I would prefer the data of highest temperature inside the primary shear zone, but since the tool cuts and chip formed along time, I have no idea how to get this value.

I am read papers getting highest temperature of the primary shear zone, but I wonder if they just extract temperature data of the primary shear zone from each frame, or is there any other ways to achieve this?

Thank you in advance.

If you already have temperature output in your analysis (temperature-displacement explicit step) then you can use Tools —> Field Output —> Create From Frames and select the maximum operation to create new field output with largest values of selected variable over all frames.

Okay thank you very much FEA way!
