2D drawing sketch

I have a drawing view which was created from a 3d model. I am trying to create a 2d sketch within that drawing view.

I make my sketch and place initial dimensions. However, when I double click on the dimension to edit the sketch, the sketch dimension and the sketch itself do not change.
I have noticed that even though the dimension and the geometry not not change, sometimes they will, once I try to drag an entity.

I have also noticed that some of the dimensions have the "Drive Geometry" box checked and others have it grayed out. Why?

Are there some settings in options to fix this? Is it a bug?

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Are you updating your sketch as you change your 3d geometry?, i.e, there is an update icon within the drafing environment (black & white swirl), i suspect you have not updated your views..
As for drive geometry box greyed out, I suspect you may be trying to change a dimension in drafting that is driving geometry for the sketch, it is the 3d model that drives the drafting not the other way round...
