EN 10168:2004 states that:
"This European Standard lists the information that MAY be communicated in and includes a brief description of the inspection documents of steel products as described in EN 10204" and "by laying down standardized designations and definitions for information LIKELY to appear in inspection documents...".
My question is what information MUST be included in a 3.1 certificate for steel valves? For example, does it have to state anywhere on the document 'in accordance with EN10204 3.1', and are hand written amendments allowed e.g. if we machine a threaded valve to socket weld can we write on the certificate 'machined to socket weld'?
EN 10168:2004 can be interpreted as SUGGESTING what should be on the document, but exactly what is mandatory?
Any help gratefully received!
