hello,

Can anybody give me the supplier and model of a 3 button mouse that I can use with CATIA V4 and V5 but that is designed for someone with bigger hands?

Most modern mice have scroll buttons etc instead of a normal middle button.

Many thanks,

Niels

I find that a Scroll Wheel mouse, when combined with a 3-dimensional device such as a SpaceBall make CATIA much more functional than a simple 3-button mouse by itself. The scroll wheel lets you move the tree up and down rapidly, and the SpaceBall allows you to perform you 3-D manipulation.

I remember ther were some ergonomic mouse devices that were made for different hand sizes. My suggestion would be to start your search with the tag "ergonomic mouse", and maybe try to fit the word "CAD" in there. Because the large mouse would have to be 3 button - although the ergos that I remember actually had 6 buttons... (not sure if they were CAD specific)

Neils,

I use an old Belkin mouse that's pretty big. 3-button and roller ball (that squeaks like a mouse). Belkin F8E813-BLK-USB. If you can find one, I'm sure they are pretty cheap.

The Contour mouse looks like there should be a size that you'll like.

I'm not as young as CATIAJim, and I've never figured out how to use mice with scroll wheels in the middle. They always seem to make my tree move when I touch the wheel!

Well, jackk - I'm not as old as Jim, and I absolutely loathe the scroll wheel! It might be good enough for MicroSoft, but it's a real pain in the royal jelly to use with Catia.

I'm built for speed, not finesse. [2thumbsup]
