303S vs 304L

How does 304L compare to 303S on the basis of corrosion resistance and machinability? Also experimenting with 316L; but cost concerns and machinability point to 304L. Any help in this manner would be very much appreciated. (303S is what we currently use, but would like to use a metal that does not need to be plated in order to reach desired corrosion resistance).

use the 304 maxival. it is much more easier to machine/

The 303S is considered a "free machining" stainless. It has a machinability factor that is better than 304L or 316L. However, you will sacrifice corrosion resistance with this material. I recommend going with the 316L. You can spend a little extra on the material and buy from Carpenter. Their material is manufactured using a more refined process than some other commodity steel manufacturers. What you lose in the extra material cost will easily be made back up with less tool wear and downtime.
