I need to find out what Thermal Expansion Coefficient for 316H is at 800 egrees Celsius.

Also what other Stainless steels can run at these temps?? No stress environment.

Thanks

Chad

Coefficient will be (approx.) same as 316. Refer to e.g. ASME B31.3 for values of the coefficient.
Im not sure if 316H is a good material to choose at such temperatures (regardless of the service and service conditions (like pressure).
Refer to API 571 para. 4.2.6, Sigma Phase Embrittlement.

From what temp to 800C? If you hold it at one temp there will be no expansion.

For ref: all in C, cte in 10e-6/C
0-315 6.2
0-540 17.5
0-650 18.5
0-815 20.0

So for 650-815 the average cte is 25.9 e-6/C
This is very large.

Because of Sigma and other issues you might be better off looking at a Ni alloy.
Maybe start with 625.
