HI all,

I was about to complete my cost estimation for a small scope at its conceptualization phase (pre-scoping) when Bam! I was told there is a 1 x GIS switchgear feeder section that I need for an existing GIS extension. The new GIS feeder section would be 2500A horizontal bus, 35 kV, 1200 A breaker, 40 kA sym.

I believe, this is not the place to ask for pricing but I do not have anymore the luxury of time to go out for a vendor (Siemens, ABB or Areva)...so out of desperation I am posting this and hope don't get reprimanded by it.

Does anyone have any idea how much it may cost as a thumb suck estimate only. I really hate doing this here but I hope everyone can help me. Thanks in advance.

Contact the vendor rep of the existing GIS if you know the manufacturer of the equipment. You have to have data sheet and SLD of existing GIS to get conservative quotation of one additional bay unit.

A very rough price factored from a much older quotation would be about £90k for a bare 33kV / 1250A indoor SF6 breaker. I haven't got much MV distribution switchgear in my budgeting cribsheet unfortunately.
