Hi everybody,

I need to simulate the deformation of an elastic body (element type: C3D4) due to hydrostatic pressure in a 3D complex cavity (represented by hydrostatic fluid elements: F3D4) generated by an injection of new fluid mass.
I know I have to work on an INP file, but I don’t know how to approach the problem.
I assume that the cavity elements and the body elements have to share the same nodes. (Am I right?)
My idea was to use CAE to generate the complex geometries of two distinct parts:
- the body: 3D deformable solid
- the cavity: 3D deformable shell
and to mesh the two parts using the same number of seeds for the cavity surface. The next step I have in mind is to work on the inp to assign the hydrostatic fluid elements to the shell part, but I don’t know how to force the two parts to share the same nodes on the surface cavity.
Is this a good approach? Maybe there is a better solution to do it, but I didn’t find it. Do you have some good ideas?

Thank you for your help,

Erika
