Hey,
This is my first time in the forum, I hope someone can help me. My company has requested I try and track down software for automatically creating 2D polyline drawings from the point cloud, as a quicker alterntive to manually tracing features. Does anyone know of such a software, or perhaps someone could point me in the right direction.

if you are obtaining LIDAR, your vendor should supply the polylines

Your question is kind of vague. CVG is correct about LIDAR. The company supplying the DEM or TIN should include the contours.

If you mean you need to generate 2D contours from surveyed points then there are survey packages for ACAD that will do this. (Create a TIN from the points then generate contours from that)
