I need to create a 3D model of chewed gum.

Obviously, SolidWorks (and most CAD packages) are very geometric, the complete opposite of just a free-form mass.

Any ideas on the best way to create a CAD model of a chewed piece of gum?

Thanks,
Lou

I think sculpting software like Blender or ZBrush will work better, but if you need it in SW you need to be careful how many faces you end up with.

Thanks for all the feedback. This is going to be part of a manufactured product, so I need to be able to shell it, add some flanges to the bottom, and make it injection moldable. All of this complicates it a bit and limits what I can and can't do.

Include some unchewed gum and instructions with the product?

Just give a noob a surfacing project and use his first try.

Melt some plastic and chew it, then let it cool …. :)

I see one on the freecad site. There are a few different versions, so you would need to see how many pologons you can work with. I do 3D milling on my CNC. I tried working with solidworks CAM for this, but I eventually got tired of trying to dumb down my parts to mill using this CAM software.
