Dear all,

I am simulating one 3D model with Contact interaction. I have defined total of 124472 quadratic elements. When I try to simulate the model I am getting following error message:

C:\Users\NIKHIL~1\AppData\Local\Temp\nikhildlondhe_Ball_Race_Model_Run_1_9892\Ball_Race_Model_Run_1_stdSolver_stack.local_0 file. Check the disk space on your system.

I have setup work directory and Scratch file directory as D drive, which has a space of about 120 GB. So I don't know why Abaqus is still writing files into C drive. Plus C drive has a space of about 60 GB. So can somebody please help me on how to debug this error? Especially when I have sufficient space on the disk.

Thank you in advance,

You must be using Abaqus/CAE (i.e., the GUI interface of the pre-processor) to submit your job. Use the command prompt. If you don't know how, google away!

IBS, as you said, I submitted .inp file of the model using command prompt. But again, analysis got terminated with the same error message:

***ERROR: An error occurred during a write access to
C:\Users\NIKHIL~1\AppData\Local\Temp\nikhildlondhe_Ball_on_Race_Run_1
_4708\Ball_on_Race_Run_1_stdSolver.local_0 file. Check the disk
space on your system.
I found this message in the (msg) file of the model. Any other ideas that can work?

Why is your job in the C:\....\AppData\Local\Temp\.. directory? You didn't run the job from this location, did you? This location is your Temp location in your local machine environment variable. You might want to have your IT admin look into this.

IBS, I did submit job from D: drive using command prompt. I am pretty sure work directory is D drive but I am not sure about Scratch directory. So when I submit job ( in D drive) from command prompt, how can I ensure that scratch directory is also D drive ?

Also, its a lab computer. Therefore multiple user accounts can access Abaqus. So is it something related to that? Because each user has there own folders in C: drive. May be Abaqus is referring to those folders by default. Sorry, I have very limited knowledge in this area.

One thing, I noticed in dat file is that: Memory estimate to Minimize I/O is 46.245 GB. My computer has RAM of just 16 GB. So is it possible that this incompatibility is possible source of error message?
My info on these topics is limited. So any direction would be appreciated.

Thanks
