Is there a standard note used on drawings for 3D Printed parts?
Thank you.

a0r0t,

Is anybody going to read your drawing? My experience has been that 3D[ ]printers do not. What does your 3D[ ]printer need to know?

Don't stick notes on your drawings (or work orders) just for the heck of it.

This is what we're using. And yes, the drawing is read.

1. FEATURES, CONTOUR AND HOLE LOCATIONS ARE CONTROLLED
BY THE 3D CAD FILE.

ALL NON-DIMENSIONED FEATURES IN THE CAD FILE ARE TO BE
CONTROLLED BY THE DRAWING TOLERANCE BLOCK. NON-
ANALYTICAL SURFACES ARE DEFINED BY THE 3D CAD FILE

TO BE PRINTED USING STRATASYS DIMENSION SST 1200es
PRINTER OR EQUIVALENT USING THE FOLLOWING SETTINGS:
MATERIAL: ABS PLUS
MODEL INTERIOR: SOLID
COLOR: ANY
MODEL FILE: T850123-01-10A.STL

I'd called out "FDM PRINTED" instead of an actual 3D printer brand, and maybe add your requirements for layer thickness. If you don't want your parts bonded together, add "NO SEAMS" or similar wording.

Have you read faq731-376 to make the best use of these Forums?

Pointless if your tolerances are out of whack. Especially true if all you have is +/- tolerances in the block. You ought to have a blanket default surface profile with defined datums.
